Slalom to join the 2011 Pan Am Games Schedule

At the recent ICF meetings in Lausanne, Switzerland ICF-SL Director, Jean-Michel Prono, confirmed that slalom will be on the 2011 Pan Am Games schedule in Mexico City, Mexico. This exciting announcement signifies another positive step forward for slalom in recent weeks. To be part of the Pan Am Games is an honour, and demonstrates the effectiveness of the ICF and it’s member countries to develop the sport in the Pan American countries. Prono stated that the venue for this event will be in the mountainuous region of Veracruz, Mexico on a natural river. More information on the event will follow.

The 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games bid committee did confirm that Slalom would be on their schedule if they win the bid. With Mexico City making this announcement, and Toronto signifying their commitment, Canoe/Kayak slalom is on the fast-track to becoming a main-stream sport!
